Knox County Middle School will be accepting team requests for the 2012-2013 school year during a one week period started starting Wednesday, May 23.
The request will only be for teams and not for homeroom teachers. Students will be assigned to teams and homerooms based upon the criteria identified in the KCMS Student Assignment policy.
The request can only be completed by the legal parent or guardian of the student and must be submitted on the form provided by the middle school.
Team requests will accepted:

The top twenty six graduating seniors at Knox Central honored the teacher or adult that has made the greatest impact on their life during a ceremony held on May 14th.
The Green Leaf award, coordinated by the school’s Youth Service Center, recognizes honorees for “planting a seed of education in the mind of a young person.”

As the preparations are made for a festive atmosphere in downtown Frankfort for the Governor’s Derby Celebration, one of the final touches will be the tablecloths for the picnic tables. Each picnic table on the Old State Capitol grounds will be shaped like a horse and covered with a “blanket” painted by schoolchildren of all ages from across the Commonwealth.

Lynn Camp’s design and engineering students are giving a whole new meaning to “board-walk” as they prepare to play on the world’s largest Monopoly board.
The students have engineered a 2537.64 sq. ft. Monopoly board, breaking the recorded Guinness world record size of 2335.445 sq. ft.

The Kentucky Department of Education has announced that Knox County is one of eight districts to receive a Project Lead the Way grant to establish a pre-engineering career pathway next school year.
The award, totaling $75,000, will be used at Knox County Middle School and Knox Central High School according to public information director Frank Shelton.

Beth Mills, Kenny Smallwood, and Allen Taylor were selected by their co-workers to receive this year’s award which will be presented on Saturday, May 12, on the campus of Campbellsville University.

The school wide focus at Lynn Camp Elementary has been helping each student to become a fluent reader. SFA classrooms have been practicing fluency each week.
At the beginning of the year the total school wide fluency rate was 31% and staff has seen a consistent growth all year. The school is currently at 69%.
