The Community
Education Program is a state grant-funded program that operates with
five essential components:
Community Schools, Lifelong Learning, Collaboration, Service
Learning, and Volunteerism.
Community Education holds classes based on the needs and desires of
the community and schools. Individuals and groups are encouraged to
call and voice their opinions on which classes are needed.
Currently, the program holds a variety of classes, including cake
decorating, scrap-booking, health and nutrition, bow-making, and
more.
The public is charged a minimum fee, which usually pays for the
instructor of the class. Some recent Community Education events
include a Career Day for students and Christmas Village
featuring local artists and crafters.
Community Education is constantly seeking volunteers to help carry
out service learning projects or to teach a class. |
