Q: Who do I submit my completed application
to?
A: Applications for employment are submitted to the
Superintendent's secretary at the Knox County Board of Education.
Q: What
paperwork do I need to submit for a certified application?
A: The following items are required before employment.
Employment may not begin until after all paperwork required is
received. Completed application, copy of driver's
license and social security card, teaching certificate, transcripts,
verification of experience, verification of transferable sick leave
if previously employed by another Kentucky school district, health
certification, membership application to the Kentucky Teachers'
Retirement System, tax withholding exemption certificate, and
criminal records check.
Q: What is the
hiring process used by the Knox County Public Schools?
A: Applications are submitted to the Knox County Board of
Education and screened by the Superintendent and/or their designee.
Interviews may then be conducted at the discretion of the
Superintendent. A list of applicants is then forwarded the
school's SBDM council and the applications are screened. After
consultation with the SBDM council, the Principal makes the
selection and notifies the Superintendent of a selection.
For district-wide positions, the Superintendent employs.
